The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, reiterated his rejection of the sanctions imposed by the Government of the United States against the Government and the Venezuelan People, for having convened the elections for the National Constituent Assembly (NCA).

"Today the Government of Emperor Donald Trump took decisions against me as President of the Republic. These are decisions that express his impotence, despair, hatred; the character of the emperor of the US," said the Head of State during the ceremony during which he received a copy of the first electoral bulletin was handed to him by the President of the National Electoral Council (CNE), Tibisay Lucena.

Likewise, the National Head of State indicated that the Government of the United States intends to give orders to the governments of Latin America and the Caribbean, to impose its imperial dominion over the free peoples of the world.

"I do not obey imperial orders, I am a free president, independent, but also anti-imperialist and anti-colonialist, I am proud to be like that, impose the sanctions that you want, but the Venezuelan people are free and I am the President of a free, proud, sovereign, patriot and chavista people."

He considered that the sanctions against him are a reaction, "because the People of Venezuela and its President ´disobeyed´ the order to suspend the NCA ... I am sanctioned for calling a general election for the People to vote freely ... I feel proud of these sanctions, because I do not obey orders from foreign governments".
