COMUNICADO OFICIAL

BOLIVARIAN REPUBLIC OF VENEZUELA

PEOPLE'S POWER MINISTRY FOR FOREIGN RELATIONS

COMMUNIQUÉ

The Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela rejects the interference of the Embassy of the United States of America in Venezuela by intending to meddle in the domestic political affairs and attempting to discredit the National Constituent Assembly and the Venezuelan democracy in the social networks.

Venezuela demands respect for its institutions and democratic process; consequently, the government of the United States and any of its representatives cannot pretend to be the arbitrator or judge of the Venezuelan democracy and its institutions.

Venezuela reminds the government of the United States and its representatives in our country that pursuant Article 41 of the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations the diplomatic agents “have a duty not to interfere in the internal affairs” of the receiving State. We hope and wish that the new head of the mission of the United States of America in Venezuela does not follow the same interventionist path of his predecessors.

The government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela wishes to maintain relations of dialogue and mutual respect with the government of the United States of America but without affecting the Venezuela’s sovereignty, peace and stability. Furthermore, Venezuela shall not tolerate any interference or intervention in its internal affairs and shall take the necessary measures to safeguard its national sovereignty and respect of the international law.
