The People’s Power Minister for Foreign Relations, Jorge Arreaza Montserrat, on behalf of the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolas Maduro Moros, held a meeting with the United Nations Secretary General, Antonio Guterres, in which was addressed the success of the recent governors elections and the full operation of the Venezuelan institutions.

Also, the forthcoming municipal elections to be held on next December in which 335 mayors will be elected, was subject of conversation.

Foreign Minister Arreaza highlighted the full coordination and respect among the branches of Government, including the recognition by the elected opposition governors whom sworn in before the National Constituent Assembly.

The Secretary General was informed about the interest of President Nicolas Maduro for restarting dialogue with the Venezuelan opposition in Dominican Republic, as well as the Government’s willingness of achieving concrete results from this process.

The meeting was favourable to evaluate the impact of the unilateral coercive measures imposed against Venezuela by the U.S. government, which impair our right to development, as well as the interventionist aggressions by other countries subordinated to the U.S. government.

The Foreign Minister Arreaza, on behalf of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, thanked the United Nations Secretary General for his facilitation of good offices between Venezuela and Guyana regarding the territorial dispute on Guayana Esequiba.
